We believe in the one only living and true God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Jn. 1:1; 10:30; 14:16-26; 15:26;Mt. 3:16-17)
We believe the Bible, being the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as given in the original writing by inspiration of God, is the Word of God, and the only infallible rule of faith and life, a faithful record of God’s gracious revelations, and the sure witness of Christ. (2 Tim. 3:15-17;Heb. 4:12; Mt. 5:17-18; 26:54; Jn. 5:39; 10:35; Lk. 24:45; Acts 18:28)
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, in the Word made flesh, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, the true image of God, being himself God, the ultimate revelation of God’s will and character to the human race. That He lived without sin, died for our sins, was buried, and rose again form the dead on the third day, ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father. That He lives eternally in the presence of the Father interceding for His Church, which he indwells, with the Father, by the Holy Spirit. Unto Him we render love, obedience and adoration as our Prophet, Priest and King. (Jn. 1:1; 3:13; 14:9; 17:3; Mt. 1:20; 11:27; Rom. 10:9; 1 Cor. 15:1-8;Col. 1:15;2:9;Heb. 1:3;7:25;Acts2:30-33)
We believe in the continuing activity of the Holy Spirit and in the gifts of the Holy Spirit which are available to all believers; and by whom we are born again to saving repentance and faith and sanctified, enabled to live a godly life and equipped to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. (Rom. 12:3-8; 8:1-4; 1 Cor. 12: 1-11,27-28; Eph 4:8-13; Jn. 3:5- 6;16:7-15; 1 Tim. 3:16)
We believe in the sinfulness of all people by nature and by choice and their inability to attain perfect righteousness or salvation by any human effort. That the entire human race is consequently under the condemnation of the perfect justice of God, apart from God’s grace. (Rom. 4:16; 5:12; 8:23; 11:6; Jn. 3:16-18; 8:3)
We believe that God, out of His great love for the world, has given His only begotten Son to be the Saviour of sinners, and desires all to be saved. We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ. (Jn. 3:16-17; 2 Peter 3:9; Eph. 2:8; Rom. 4:16; Acts 4:12)
We believe in the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. All believers are expected to participate in these ordinances. We believe in believer’s baptism* and the dedication of children to the Lord until such time as they are moved by the Holy Spirit to baptism and respond. (Mt. 3:16; 26:26-28; 28:19; Mk. 14:22-25; Lk. 22:15- 20; 1 Cor. 11:23-29; Acts 2:38; Rom. 6) * Believer’s baptism is a baptism that occurs following a profession of faith in Jesus Christ, and shall normally occur by immersion.
We believe in the growth in grace (sanctification) of every person who is born of the Holy Spirit, that believers will evidence their faith by seeking to be filled with the Spirit, to be separate from that which is evil or demonic in this world, to seek holiness, to walk in good works, and grow through grace into the likeness of Christ. We believe also, that inasmuch that all prayer is prompted by the Holy Spirit, He will in response, grant us every blessing according to His unsearchable wisdom and the riches of His grace in Christ Jesus. (Eph. 1:3,17-23; 2:10; 5:11,18; 1 Jn. 5:14-15; Rom. 8:4,32; 13:12,14; Jn. 17: 14-15,17; 1 Thess. 4:3; 2 Thess. 2:13b)
We believe all members are given spiritual gifts for service (to minister) in submission to Christ, that His body, the Church might be edified and built up. (Rom. 12:3-8; 1 Cor. 12:1-11,27-28; 1 Peter 4: 10)
We believe that God has given as a gift to the church individuals set apart for ministry, some apostles, and some prophets, and some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers; for the equipping of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect (complete, mature) man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. (Eph. 4:8-13; 1 Cor. 12:27-28)
We believe in the spiritual unity of all who truly believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, that is, the only Holy Universal Church, which is the body of Christ, Jesus Christ being the King and Head of the Church. (1 Cor. 12:12-16; Eph. 1:22-23; 4:4-6; Col. 1:18; 1 Tim. 1:7; 6:15; Rev. 15:3; 17:14; 19:16)
We believe in the personal visible return of Christ to the earth, the bodily resurrection of the dead, and the judgment after which the finally impenitent shall be eternally excluded from the Kingdom of God and those saved through the grace of God in Christ, shall inherit eternal glory, wholeness and peace, and God shall be all in all. (1 Thess. 4:16-17; 1 Cor. 15;Rom. 2:5-10; 8:11; 1 Peter 1:4;Lk. 21:27; Rev. 1:7;20:11-15; Heb. 9:27)
